How do I disable the imported assignments category?

My district has chosen that each period has it's own course to keep them separate. Therefore, I create everything per module in one course, then copy it all over to the other four courses. In doing so, it creates the "Imported Assignments" category each time, instead of putting the assignment into the category it was in when I copied it over. How do I disable the creation of the imported assignments category? I desperately do not want to have to fix the same thing four times over every time I copy modules over to my courses. Any help is deeply appreciated.
