I need a copy of my exams that I can set the time limit on to give one student more time on the exam. I have tried renaming an exam and importing it but it just replaces the original exam rather than posting a new copy.

mikesell.d, if you really need to make a separate copy of the exam, I've no doubt that other Community members will chime in with their recommendations. But based on your described use case, it's not necessary to do that. Canvas has a built-in feature called Moderate Quiz that will allow you to give students accommodations such as extra time and extra attempts. Please refer to Once I publish a timed quiz, how can I give my students extra time?
If, after reading the guide, you still would like to know how to make a copy of a quiz, I'm wondering if you're following the steps in @James_Kocher_UF 's resource, Copying items in a course Feel free to post back!

Thanks so much! This is just what I needed.

Rhodes State...the #1 Choice
Hi- this is a good suggestion. However, I am looking for a way to duplicate an Exam. It is a request I get frequently, in one case so that different proctoring setups can be applied to the test.
Does anyone have insight on this?
Hi @ElizabethMcGraw,
Do you have access to a Sandbox Course you could import to? You can send that version to the Sandbox, rename it, and then import into the same course or another course. This is one solution that I am aware of.
Hi Eric,
thanks for the suggestion.
In the past I've tried copying within the course and giving the quiz a different name, but I got the warning that says that importing the same content will overwrite existing content.
Is saving to another course/sandbox a workaround for that?
