In grading, how to select who sees comments?

In grading assignments for different classes, some assignments offer the options to either Send comment to this student only, or Send comment to the whole group. Some of my other classes simply show the statement "All comments are sent to the whole group."

How do I make available the option to choose how I want the comments sent? Where can this option be set up?

Hi  @rortiz1  Welcome to the Canvas Community. That option is one that is part of "package deal," if you will, for a group assignment where you choose to grade the students individually.  The options you describe are specifically illustrated in this lesson regarding the SpeedGrader:  How do I grade group assignments in SpeedGrader?  It is set up when creating an assignment and enabling the checkbox to Assign Grades to Each Student Individually, as illustrated here: How do I assign an assignment to a course group?
