I have a Macbook Pro that has been updated to OX Yosemite and Safari to 10.1.2. Whenever I use Canvas though I cannot see the files that my instructor adds to the assignments board. Do I need another software to see these attached files?

Hi @jessica_robless Welcome to the Canvas Community.
I think it is still a browser issue.
Here are some ideas for you to try:
- Check your device compatibility: What are the basic computer specifications for Canvas?
- Check your browser compatibility: Which browsers does Canvas support? Your safari one will need to be updated.
- Try a different browser. The latest version of Chrome works great in both Windows and MacOS.
- If none of these methods solve the problem, contact Canvas Support. General instructions are in How do I get help with Canvas as a student?, but your school's support setup might vary somewhat, in which case ask your local IT Department for additional troubleshooting assistance.
- There may be some other reasons that you cannot access your courses in Canvas...some of which are outlined here: Why can't I access my Course as a student?
If you have tried these then let us know how you got on, if it didn't help then we can support you further.
Sing out if you need a hand.
