On my Canvas pages, I would like all the hyperlinks I have created to open in a new tab by default, instead of opening in the same window. This would allow my students to continue to have my Canvas page accessible as they are completing the assignments or navigating to the pages I have set for them. Does anybody know how to do this?
Thank you,
Stacey

Hi maestrajardín...
You could use the Ctrl+K method as I've outlined here: https://community.canvaslms.com/message/30716?commentID=30716#comment-30716 ... but you'd have to do this for every link you wanted to open in a new tab/window.

Thank you! This is extremely helpful and just what I was looking for.
Is it possible to find out how to automatically set links to open in a new tab now that the Ctrl+K feature is no longer working please? Thanks in advance!
maestrajardín, @Chris_Hofer has given you good guidance, and I love the CTRL+K shortcut.
I notice that a new feature idea has been submitted that requests a change in the default behavior for links. You might want to "follow" it to your inbox so that you can be notified when it is opened for voting:
The link to the Ctrl-K solution is dead.
The Ctrl + K feature is no longer working and any new links or changes to my Canvas page will not open in a new tab. Is there a new command for this feature? I had set my whole Canvas page to behave like this but now when I make changes it will not.
