SpeedGrader work not showing up in grade book, assignments

Hello,

I have a situation where students answer questions in discussions but some of the assignments aren't showing up in the grade book or in the discussion thread, however, they are showing up in SpeedGrader. Once graded in SG, they do not carry over to the grade book and still show as an asterisk. 

I have no idea what's happening. My university provided the shell and I personalized but students are getting zeroes for work they've turned in that isn't showing up.

Any ideas on where to start with this one?

I assume that as you posted this question a while ago that you have found a solution.

It is most unusual though. Perhaps you cold reach out to your Canvas support crew at you institution?
