Students uploading their work

From a student's view, what are the steps to uploading their work to send to me? I want to make a tutorial and I'm not sure exactly how they would do it from their screen. If they take a picture of their work, how do they upload that file to me? If they take a screenshot of their computer screen, then what? Please help. Thank you.

Before making a tutorial, you might want to review these two videos to see if they would be things that you could share with your students instead.  These are directly from Instructure (the company that makes Canvas):
