We are on a self-hosted installation of Canvas.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak we have many students who needed extra time. Our term was set up to end April 15, 2020. Now that it is April 17, nobody can turn in work through Canvas.
What we have tried:
1. Initially we just assigned due dates to students that needed extensions. However, when those students sign in, they cannot see the submit button.
2. The "Students can only interact with this course between these dates" setting seems no effect, even for those students who have the extensions assigned in the Assignment.
3. Adjusting the course end date seems to have no effect either. Setting the course end date to May 15 has no effect -- and I have tried with both combinations of the above setting.
4. Adjusting the term that was supposed to end April 15 to a later date has no effect.
Is it possible that changing these settings has no effect because the original term end date has already passed? Are we hosed for this term, and do I need to send an email out to all faculty and staff to conduct all late work by email?
