The "Files" area of a course is not meant for adding website URLs. As the name suggests, "Files" is an area to upload files and folders...similar to your file and folder structure you have set up on your own computer. If you wanted to include URLs in your course "Files", you'd need to create a document (using MS Word, for example) offline, add the links to the document, and then upload the document to "Files". Another option for you would be to create a content page in your course specifically to list website URLs that you want your students to access.
