Is there a way for students to see a discussion board rubric in the same way they see rubrics for assignments? If not, can I include a link to the rubric for students to click on (without having to create the rubric as a file/document in Canvas and linking to that)?
I've created rubrics for discussion board. I know if students click on the three dots, they can select: View Rubric. That just seems like extra steps that the students might not take.
For now, I have created an image of the rubric, and embedded the image in the content editor.

Clicking the 3 dots is the only way I know of to view rubrics for both instructors and students with Discussions. My assumption is that it was added there because of the nature of Discussions getting longer and longer as more posts are added. The best work around I can think of (beyond telling students where to find the rubric) is exactly what you are doing, taking a screenshot of it and embedding it in the discussion directions.

Hello there, @KimWhiteside ...
I completely agree with my friend, @rmurchshafer. I'll just add that you might want to provide your students a link to this Guide so they have it as a reference: How do I view the rubric for my graded discussion?.
I hope this extra bit of information will be of help to you. Take care, and be well.
Thanks for responding @rmurchshafer and @Chris_Hofer.
