What happens when student quiz data disappears?

I re-ran a quiz for a student who missed class the day before.  I did so by re-issuing the same quiz by changing the students from everyone to just the one student.  Much to my disappointment, all the prior students' data are gone.  

I don't think the data are "gone" but it's not showing in the speed grader.  I can only see that they did something in the quiz analysis.  But I can't get to their work.  

Does anyone know how to "refresh" their work?

Don't worry, the quiz submissions and grades for the other students are still there but if you've only assigned to quiz to a specific student then the data for the other students will be hidden. What you need to do is edit the quiz again and in the Assign To settings, click +Add and then add "Everyone". This will insert a separate Assign To box showing "Everyone else". You can set an availability date in the past for everyone else to prevent the other students from taking the quiz again. Save the quiz and you should then be able to access the data for the other students.
