In this Canvas Badges/Credentials release (28 May), admin and issuers can bulk award badges for multiple badges and various users using a single CSV file. Additionally, learners receive notifications for changes related to evidence submissions.

This feature enhances the user experience by increasing versatility and making it easier to award multiple badges to different users.

Feature Workflow

Bulk Award Award for Multiple Badges Button

In badgr.com, click the Bulk Award for Multiple Badges button in the Issuer tab.

CSV Upload Link

Upload the desired CSV file.

Note: The CSV file must contain the following fields:

• Badge Class ID: Unique identifier for the badge to be awarded. This is the ID in Mongo which is also available in the URL (e.g. 65f803ac53ae0b2639ac0eba)
• Identifier: Unique identifier for each user.
• First Name: First name of the user.
• Last Name: Last name of the user.
• Narrative: Description or reason for the badge award.
• Evidence Narrative: Additional details or evidence supporting the badge award.
• Evidence URL: URL linking to supporting evidence.
• Issue Date: Date when the badge is issued.
• Expiration Date: Date when the badge expires.

CSV Field Mapping

Once uploaded, Canvas Credentials analyzes the data to map column headers.

Bulk Award for Multiple Badges Summary

After Validation, confirm the details and click the Finish button.

Summary

For evidence submissions, learners automatically receive notifications for changes to mandatory or non-mandatory evidence requirements. Additionally, learners receive automatic notifications when evidence is accepted or rejected by instructors including reasons and additional notes.

This feature improves communication and enhances the overall user experience by reducing ambiguity and providing timely updates on evidence-related actions.

Changes to Evidence Submission Notification

When changes are made to mandatory or non-mandatory evidence requirements a notification, a notification displays in the notification tray.

Evidence Submission Accept and Reject Notification

When an evidence submission is accepted or rejected, a notification displays in the notification tray.
