Summary
Dedicated pages are available for all supported skill types in Canvas Credentials, including TalentNeuron, Flexible, and OSMT. Each page provides structured metadata tailored to the skill’s source, a stable URL for easy reference, and a richer reading experience than the compact Skill Tray. The Skill Tray remains available during badge creation and on badge detail pages, and includes a View Skill Page link to open the full page.
Change Benefit
This change provides clearer, more comprehensive skill information for all audiences. Admins and Issuers gain full context for skills, including taxonomy placement, Flexible skill variants, and TalentNeuron insights. This enables faster, more confident selection and stronger governance. Org Members benefit from consistent skill details in one place, making it easier to understand what a badge represents. Learners and Employers see more consistent badge language across programs, improving external comprehension and trust.
Feature Workflow
After selecting a skill card, a dedicated page displays the skill details.
Notes:
- TalentNeuron skills display taxonomy, descriptions, and labor market insights when available.
- Flexible skills display framework, code, taxonomy, and grouped variants that share an alignment code. When multiple Flexible skills share the same alignment code, they are grouped and the most recently used name is shown.
OSMT skills display metadata and include a link to the source.
When creating a badge or viewing a badge with a demonstrated skill, click the skill link to open the skill tray.
In the Skills Tray, click the Go to Skill Page link to open the full skill page in a new tab. Close the tab when finished to continue creating a badge. The draft in progress will remain unchanged.
Additional Details
- Each skill page provides a stable URL for easy internal reference and review. Access requires appropriate organization membership and roles.
- Labor market insights are shown only for TalentNeuron skills and only when data is available. If data is unavailable, the section is hidden or replaced with a fallback message.
- Flexible taxonomy entries that share the same alignment code are grouped on the page, with the most recently used name shown as the primary label. Entries without an alignment code appear independently.
