[ARCHIVED] Grading with a Rubric in Canvas and why???

We use a Rubric to grade in Canvas.  A lot of instructors complain that when they click in the rubric to score students and then save the grade does not transfer to the assessment section of the Canvas grade book(we have to type the grade in there manually).  Is there a way to make the grade in the rubric transfer to this area?  It would make a lot of instructors happy in our institution. 335022_pastedImage_2.png

Hi,  @cpartite , yes, it's possible, and very easy to enable. After adding the rubric to the assignment, the instructor should edit the rubric to enable the "Use this rubric for assignment grading" checkbox. From that point forward, the sum of the values the instructor clicks on the rubric will auto-populate the grade field in Speedgrader. Detailed instructions are in the Select Rubric Settings section of https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12861-4152724129
