@qnguyen , it probably has to do with the way you have user permissions set-up at your Institution (possibly "Read SIS data"). In addition, it might have to do with where you are seeing the email address. Even with me as an Admin the only way I can see the full email address for students is by going to a student's user account details (on the Admin Account side of things). Yet, I can see student's login ID, which for us is the first part of their email address - only missing the @richland.edu part, from the People link in a course and the gradebook.

@qnguyen , I concur with  @kona . Our school also sets up enrollments via SIS, and so I can navigate to the Gradebook and in the "Secondary ID" column I can view students' user names (to which I can add the @bucs.fsw.edu suffix to create an email address). Yet, in another course that was populated with students by manually enrolling them, the Secondary ID column shows their user names, but these do not necessarily equate to their email addresses. So as far as I can tell, the answer to your question depends on how the users were created (what user names were they given?) and how they were enrolled in the course (automatically by institutional user name, or by some other method?).

Our SIS has the email included but 2nd ID in Grade book is user name such as JDoe, not email, is there a way to add a Manual Column and assign info into it? I am guessing Smiley Happy Thanks

@qnguyen , I don't know the answer to that, but I wonder if the 2nd ID would be sufficient (as it is in my case, for example: the 2nd ID is the user name without the email suffix, so as an instructor, all I need to do is add that and I have an email address). As a teacher, I would not welcome an extra column in my Gradebook--but that's just me. I wonder if you have seen this related conversation also underway in the Canvas Admins group: How do you generate a list of email addresses from a course roster?
