Deactivated email can't receive verification code email once reactivated.

Hi, So I've been trying to connect my old school email to my backpack account so that I can have the badges from that email show up, however that email was deactivated back in December. I can have support from my school reactivate the email but I can't seem to receive the verification code email once that email is reactivated (but I can receive emails from other sources such as sending a test email to myself from a personal email).
