All of a sudden Canvas LMS throwing 'we're sorry, but something went wrong' message

Canvas LMS (open source version) hosted in an all in one server was working fine for last 6 months without any issues, but yesterday all of a sudden Canvas LMS throwing 'we're sorry, but something went wrong' message. CPU usage is normal, Memory usage is normal. On a restart of canvas_init everything becomes fine again, but this issue happened 4-5 times(at 4:35am, 10:30am, 5pm, 6:15pm, 7:30pm, approx) yesterday. Today so far no issues. Kindly help me to figure out the issue and fix it, as this is being used by many users.

And since the production.log & delayed_jobs.log doesn't have the timestamp I couldn't figure out errors as well. please suggest a way to include the timestamp in these logs as well, there is no logging.yml file in the config being used.

For all having this problem with Azure VM:

just upgrade your VM to >= 8M RAM and this error is gone.
