Central File Repository - What do you use?

Does anyone use a 3rd party file hosting site to serve up files that can then be linked in multiple canvas courses? 

We have central "masters" that copy out content automatically, but some of our standard documentation/manuals are better served if we host them somewhere else rather than running them as individual "files" in each independent shell. 

• Blackboard Learn had a "Content Collection" area for this and it was a great way to update files dynamically across many courses at once.
• Sharepoint seems to be troublesome.
• Raw ftp lose some tracking that I'd like to have (version control/history)
