Hello Early Adopter Program Participants!
We are pleased to report continued engagement with the IgniteAI Item Authoring Assistance tool during our Early Adopter Program. We observed a notable increase in overall tool usage, which is a positive indicator of its growing adoption and utility among our early adopters. Your active participation and feedback are invaluable as we continue to refine and enhance the tool.

Key Observations and Current Focus:
- Increased Tool Usage: The consistent upward trend in tool usage reflects a growing reliance on IgniteAI for item authoring. We are diligently monitoring usage patterns to identify areas of strength and opportunities for further improvement.
- Safari Browser Compatibility Issue: We have received several reports concerning a bug specifically affecting users on the Safari browser. Our engineering team has prioritized this issue and is actively working on a resolution. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we address it. We will provide an update as soon as a fix is deployed. In the interim, if possible, please consider using an alternative browser for optimal performance.
- Character and File Size Limitations: A recurring piece of feedback from many of you has been the current character and file size limitations. We recognize that these limitations have, in certain instances, posed a barrier to seamless content creation. We are actively exploring options to increase both character limits for text fields and file size limits for uploaded assets. This enhancement aims to provide greater flexibility and accommodate more extensive and complex item structures. We are currently evaluating the technical implications and will communicate any changes to these limits in future updates.
Task to Try: Quick Checks for Understanding
In Hattie’s research of 800 meta-analyses (2009) of the research across learning and teaching practices, he found that mastery learning and spaced practice having medium to high effects on student learning when done correctly.
This synthesizes multiple practices, but what’s important is that students should demonstrate mastery of newly acquired knowledge or skills after a moment of instruction. Sometimes, creating those questions can take a long time and the questions we make on the fly are lower level (which doesn’t have as great of an impact as higher order questioning).
This week, take a look at a recent lecture or asynchronous instructional experience that you have delivered to students. Have IgniteAI Item Authoring Assistance create more challenging checks for understanding. (Pro-tip: If you record your lectures, you can load the meeting transcript as a word document or in the text entry field). Tell us how IgniteAI Item Authoring Assistance helped you with this experience.
Looking Ahead:
We are committed to making IgniteAI Item Authoring Assistance a robust and intuitive tool for all users. Your ongoing feedback is crucial to this process. Please continue to report any issues, share your suggestions for new features, and let us know how we can further improve your experience. We are listening and incorporating your insights into our development roadmap.
Thank you for your continued participation in the IgniteAI Early Adopter Program!
Marcus
