Admin Features Needed

Currently it doesn't seem like there are features to support system administration and portfolio management.

This includes, but is not limited to some of the following features:

• The ability to view and access all portfolios
  
  • When providing troubleshooting support to users, admins may need access to look-up portfolios to confirm settings and appropriate set-up.
  • Once portfolios are shareable, admins may also need to access portfolios to hide, edit, and/or delete content that is inappropriate.
• Reporting is needed to quickly audit and evaluate usage
  • It would be ideal for information to be available in Canvas Data to build custom reports in case natively built reports don't provide the necessary information and to be able to integrate the data with other system data.
• User management is needed to be able to edit who has access
  • Users may join a class later due to drop/add periods and need to have access to the portfolio if it was already published due to it being an assignment/task within the first week of class.
  • In addition, users may leave a course and need to be removed if they are no longer a part of the course for the evaluation portfolio.
  • Similarly, the assigned instructor for a course may change and an evaluation portfolio may need to be transferred to a different instructor.
  • Courses that are taught by more than one instructor and/or have TAs need a way to clearly share the evaluation portfolio with them. Note: I'm not sure if all teachers of a course automatically get access to an evaluation portfolio created for a course.
  • Instructors may also need their access removed/de-activated after they are no longer employed.
• Roles and permissions are needed to ensure users have the appropriate access
  • Ideally the roles and permissions would inherit directly from Canvas as a starting point.
  • This has been a problem with New Quizzes which is an Instructure tool that is integrated into academic work within Canvas, but doesn't recognize all the roles from Canvas nor respect the permissions set on custom roles.
• API access would be ideal to help perform bulk management tasks and/or help with automation in the future

Coming here to ditto what @JamesSekcienski has outlined - some administrative ability is necessary. It does appear that acting as a user passing the impersonated user through the LTI launch, but having to do that for every user as a means of support is tedious.
