We’ve got an important update to share about the Portfolio LTI.
On Monday, September 15th at 6:00am ET / 12:00pm CET, we’ll be releasing a new version of the tool.
Why? Canvas recently updated its logic around LTIs, which means we also need to update our own logic. As many of you have experienced, this has caused issues when configuring the LTI for new registrations. Since our Portfolio LTI is still in open beta, we decided it’s best to make this change now to ensure a smoother experience going forward and to set a stronger foundation for the future.
What you need to do
Admins will need to:

Remove the old Portfolio LTI configuration.

Enable inherited developer keys in Canvas.

Add the new Portfolio app.
The good news? The new setup is much easier! It cuts the setup time by about 70% compared to the old process.
A couple of important notes

Existing data won’t carry over. All current Portfolio LTI data will be lost as part of this transition.

The new version includes a scoped API, fixing one of the biggest issues from before.

If you’ve run into installation headaches in the past, those should be gone now.
Looking ahead: this new version will make the product much more robust.
