Can a parent observer see student's work completed using the Kami external tool?

A student's parent reports that she can only see my teacher comments and the assignment without any of her child's work completed on it. Is it possible for an observer to see the annotations on an assignment that a student makes with Kami, particularly when the assignment has been created using Kami as an external tool?

I don't have any direct experience with Kami but my guess is no, parents will not have access.  Even though Kami might be set up to integrate with Canvas, I doubt that the integration is so tight that it is able to understand the course observer/parent role as set up in Canvas.  Kami would need to have a similar sort of set up to have a student and parent relationship with roles, and be able to understand it from what Canvas provides.
