Canvas Free in China

Are teachers able to access Canvas Free while in China now?  We have been unsuccessful accessing Canvas Free while in China.

I wish I had a clearer answer for you, but I can confirm that Canvas is not technically offered in China because of restrictions that China places on internet access to foreign websites. Unfortunately, Canvas may or may not work for you based on location.

Do you have any advice on testing Canvas LMS in China and other countries with specific internet regulations (e.g. tools)? We want to make sure that our students located in these countries will be able to access our courses.

Hi! I know this response comes several months after the original post and comment, but I've approached it by contacting people I know who live in the geographical area to test access to the site (without a VPN). I just ask them for a personal email address, send them an invite link with the requisite role assignment, and they send me back a confirmation (along with screenshots) on whether the site works for them or not. Unfortunately I'm also grappling with a similar situation now (but back in early 2020, I did teach a course virtually to students in Nanjing using Canvas and they seemed to be able to access it without much issue).
