Deleted Conversations

Hey gang,

Does anyone know how long Canvas stores deleted conversations? When all parties have deleted them from their Inboxes?

I can run a View Notifications report in the Admin Tools area but it looks like it only goes back until about February 2016.

I haven't opened a ticket because I don't have a specific case to investigate. My director asked and I didn't have an answer.

I sent this question to Canvas Support and have included their response below. Sounds like if specific cases come up, they may be able to dig something up.

Canvas Support:

"Unfortunately we do not have any official documents on this subject, so what you were able to find is about as far back as it goes. Is there a specific reason as to why you would need to be able to retrieve deleted messages from a certain time period? If there is an urgent matter, then let us know and we can see what is possible and what can be done on our end. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to contact us."

We are giving the Canvas Admins area a little bit of love (especially questions that are really, really old) and just want to check in with you.  This will also bring this question new attention.
