Is there a notification setting to receive an email when someone replies to a student's discussion post in Canvas?

Hello @KeithP ...

Yup!  That's all controlled by a user's Notification Preferences screen.  Check out these Guides:

You can even add additional e-mail addresses besides your default e-mail address that is tied to your Canvas account.  Once you add an additional e-mail address, you can configure that also in the Notifications screen with the same or different settings.
