How can I edit/change my Display name on my Canvas Profile?

   I am able to edit a number of settings on my account but when I go to edit my display name I am unable to. Currently it is displaying my full legal name. Thank you!

Hello,  @zlschley  and  Welcome to the Canvas Community! The general instructions for editing your profile are detailed in How do I edit my profile in my user account as a student? . However, as the documentation notes, some schools have disabled certain functions within that feature, and that may well be the case at your university—which likely means the school manages students' names through a separate system.

I made the assumption based on your email address that you are attending UWM, and I found this page of contact links that you can use to request a change to the display name: Students | Canvas
