[ARCHIVED] How to search for a user in a course that doesn't show in admin dashboard?

Hi all - 

Just getting started with Canvas, and we are doing imports from the SIS for a small homeschool program. Our programmer is going on maternity leave, so I'm piecing together what happened: here's what I've seen. 

We ran an import file that included user id and integration id last week ONLY to create Canvas users - no courses were associated with the user. I copied and pasted user emails in from our SIS teacher roster page into the course page to "add people." 

Some students were added to this program, which is new and growing, so now I have users who show up in a course under the People page who don't show on the admin People page search for their name or email address. 

I need to either delete the user (but I can't find them in the Admin area) or update them/upgrade them with additional info. 

Suggestions on how to proceed?
