New Quizzes- FITB quiz and line breaks??

I am frustrated that I cannot create sufficient clarity in 'fill in the blank' quizzes because I cannot perform simple text formatting such as line breaks or even gaps between question elements.  It appears very clunky to the students and often downright confusing- especially where numerals are involved.

I have checked on the community FAQ, this question has been asked many times in the last 2 years with no apparent resolution.

@DarrynMcKenzie You are right: fill-in-the-blank questions in New Quizzes currently don't accommodate that formatting. Please add your comments and ratings to  Allow New Quizzes fill in the blanks to have multi... and this related idea,  New Quizzes Question Types - Completing a Table.
