Publishing a course

I am brand new to Canvas.  I thought I published my course.  The published button is green and checked.  But my trial student couldn't login.

I assume that you have sorted out this challenge. I'm pleased that the green 'published' button was showing which indicates you were doing all of the right things. 

I'm wondering if the dates were set into the future so the test student wasn't able to access the course.
