[ARCHIVED] Replace a file in a module

I have already uploaded a PowerPoint into one of my modules.  I have modifed the file offline and would like to replace the file in canvas with the new file.  Should I just go to the "files" section and upload the file again or will this break the links in the module?

Hi Marc,

If the file is named the same the easiest (and best in my option) method is to go to Files and upload the new copy.  Canvas will see that there is already a file with the same name and ask if you want to replace it.  Say yes and your new copy is in place.

The reason I really like this method is because if you happen to have that file linked to from multiple places in the course this will update it in all of them since the file itself was replaced.
