Roll Call - Student Side

Can students mark themselves as attended if they click on the Assignment within Roll Call?  Or will it just give them an error message?

 @ElizabethPruitt ‌, (1) students cannot mark themselves as having attended. (2) When the student clicks on the Roll Call assignment in their Grades tab, this is what they'll see (I've used a fake student for testing purposes with the assignment set not to count toward the final grade):
