How do I send an email to the everyone in the class?  I can to one student but not the whole class.  I'd appreciate any help.

You can send messages to individuals or small groups via the Inbox. 

How do I use the Inbox as an instructor? 

Alternatively you could harness the power of Announcements to get a message through to everyone quickly. It just depends on your purpose.
