[ARCHIVED] Students' Inability to View Teacher Feedback for Annotated Essays

I do not merely grade students' papers, I also correct, revise, and label essay errors.  However, students, nor I, am able to download the feedback that accompanies each annotation.  While the annotated paper can be downloaded, it is null and void without written feedback and errors' labeling.

Have you used the download button in the tool bar?   It's at the top left.  It works for me. It downloads the annotations as a PDF. It looked the best when opening the downloaded PDF in the stand alone Adobe Reader application, not in a web browser.

If you want to make annotations directly on a Word file that students can work with, I would suggest using the Review tools in Microsoft Word, or other word processing app, and uploaded the annoted file back to the students using the comment tool. It'd be a great tool for them to learn, too!

After a teacher has marked up a document, I think that students should be able to view the most recent, marked up copy as the default view - rather than making them go to the trouble of clicking "View Feedback" and downloading the version of their document that contains teacher feedback.  This reduces the number of steps a student needs to take to view feedback.  When I pass back work, students see the marked up version!  When I am finished grading work on Canvas, I'd like students to see the marked up version of their assignment as well.
