How do I have canvas automatically sync unsubmitted assignments as missing in my grade book?

I have canvas automatically update my grades ever day at 7, which is just the box to check, but i would like canvas to put "missing" in my grade book for the students who have yet to submit the assignment.

Great question. If you are using the New Gradebook, there is a feature that supports this.You can read more about it here: How do I apply a Missing Submission policy in the New Gradebook? However, the feature currently doesn't apply to the following assignment types: No Submission, On Paper, or External Tool assignments.

I have a related situation. We use McGraw Hill Connect LTI Advantage and sometimes individual student grades don't sync. In Canvas, it will come in with an icon (an assignment page with an exclamation point) in the gradebook.

However, it would be great if we can set highlighting when this happens so it is easier to get our attention and resync to the Canvas gradebook when this happens instead of scanning through a lot of grades to find this (or downloading the gradebook to see that the four column grades don't match and looking for the error from there). Is this possible?
