I am trying to sync to PowerSchool.  I keep getting error message that the grading category is missing.  See pic

I am having the same problem. I have submitted 3 requests for help on Canvas, but only get an automated email saying they have created a ticket and will get back to me ASAP. Unfortunately, it's been over a week since my first request. I teach Word & PowerPoint, which is 100% electronic submissions. Our first progress reports are supposed to go out in 3 days and I do not have any grades in PowerSchool. No one at my school has been trained in Canvas.

Have you submitted a support ticket yet? General instructions are in How do I get help with Canvas as an instructor? but your school's support setup might vary somewhat, in which case you might need to ask your local IT Department for additional troubleshooting assistance.

Below is a screenshot of the error message I keep getting. As an example, I have circled one of the assignments listed as missing a Grading Category, Word Lesson 1 GP (Guided Practice).

Below are a couple of screenshots showing the details for that assignment, including its Assignment Group and the check mark by Sync to PowerSchool.

The screenshot below shows my 4 grading categories in PowerTeacher Pro. These match the Canvas Assignment Groups exactly, so I’m not sure where the problem is.

I even made sure that the “Post Grades to SIS” was turned on in the Canvas settings.

Does this help you understand where the issue could be? I have to get these grades posted in PowerSchool / PowerTeacher Pro before the end of the day on Friday in order to have progress reports printed by Monday morning.

 @mouddec3 ‌, this isn't something that the Canvas Community is able to troubleshoot from a distance. Your school's Customer Success Manager (CSM) has contacted the school's local admin to offer help and is also making sure that you receive a direct response to your ticket, so please be on the lookout in your email for that—and then continue to work with Canvas Support directly if you still need assistance.

How do I find out who my school’s local admin is, since our contact person for PowerSchool said nobody here has even been trained in Canvas??

I am sorry that you have been having difficulty syncing grades to PowerTeacher Pro. When districts and schools converted to PowerTeacher Pro, the process for linking those grade books also changed. You can see step-by-step directions by viewing these slides. The first step is to import your assignment categories from PowerTeacher Pro. 

I am hopeful that following that resource will be helpful! If you have additional questions, you may want to reach out to your school's Blended Learning Specialist. The contact information for Guilford County Schools' Blended Learning Department can be found on this page located on your district website. I am confident that they will be able to help with any additional needs you may have.
