What do I do if the template to create a course is not recognized?

I am trying to download a course template to 'easily' customize for my course, but the first step is to download the file. I am receiving a message of no match found for .imscc.

After downloading the .imscc file, are you attempting to open it on your computer? If so, please know that instead you'll need to follow the instructions in How do I import a Canvas course export package? to bring the content into a Canvas course shell; you will then be able to edit and customize the content there.
