What does the LAUNCH button mean?

Why is it that when I click on select assignments, there is a large blue block that reads "LAUNCH" What didn't I do?

Do I need to do something else?

 @mhodgdon  Welcome to the Canvas Community! Would you please provide a screenshot and let us know where in Canvas you're seeing "Select Assignments" and "LAUNCH"? I have never seen that before.
