What does this icon mean?

What does the icon to the left of the 3 dots (ellipses) mean???????????  I am new to Canvas.

Hello  @holmant ...

That icon...which looks a bit like a banner flag...is a subscription button.  If you hover your mouse over that icon, you'll see help text that says, "Subscribe to [topic name]" where "topic name" is the name of the topic.  Here are a couple Guides for you to look at:

• How do I subscribe to a discussion as a student?
