We have a teacher reporting that when students resubmit assignments they show as ungraded in the gradebook. When the teacher clicks on the assignment, it shows as if it has already been graded. It will show as graded in the speedgrader as well. Is this normal behavior because the student had already submitted the assignment?

Howdy @akcrayden001 ,
That's a great question; thanks for asking!
The grade was for the first submission. When a student re-submits it recognizes it as a new attempt. The way to get the grade to show in the gradebook is to grade the second submission. This can be done through SpeedGrader.
If you do not want to change the grade shown in the gradebook from the first attempt, there is an option to take care of that as well.
How do I view the details of a submission for a student in SpeedGrader?
On the page listed above, there is a section "Evaluating multiple submissions" basically showing a dropdown box where you can see each submission a student has made. Obviously in this case, your first submission is already graded so you will go to the most recent submission.
Either enter the new grade for the most recent submission; or if using the same grade from submission 1- there will be an option to click on stating "use the same grade for resubmission."
How do I use SpeedGrader? (You can see that option in the section "View Speedgrader")
Let us know if that helps!
