'No captions available'

I have recorded a couple of videos for my students, and clicked on the button to generate the captions, only to get the message 'no captions available'. What have I done wrong? And what can I do now to generate the captions? Thanks very much.

Where are you recording the videos in your course?  Are you using Canvas Studio?  Or, are you using the Record/Embed Media Tool that is included in the RCE (Rich Content Editor) of content pages within your Canvas course?  Any additional information from you would be helpful in diagnosing this...thanks!  Take care, stay safe, and be well.

Thanks for this. Yes, I was using Canvas Studio. The reason why it wouldn't do captions was that, it turned out, it hadn't recorded at all. I am not sure quite why this was, but the problem was sorted by clearing the cache.
