Canvas for Elementary on iPads

Is the functionality on the iPad for students when using the NEW Canvas for Elementary Homeroom as good as when using in the browser?  Our students have iPads and this is a question we have before making the switch.

Things to note: we've designed it to work for mobile devices, so using it in Safari on iPad should be fine, and our mobile teams are currently working on a native version for the student app that won't be ready by fall start.
