Previous Announcements

In one of the C4E mockups shown back in March, the Homeroom announcement showed a "Previous Announcements" link but that's not in the current UI. How will students and parents pull up a prior announcement in the Homeroom course?

Just updated in the overview document, we have a new feature in the beta environment (available on July 21) where the latest announcement includes a hyperlink. Students can click the announcement and be taken to the Announcements page for the course and view prior announcements.

@erinhmcmillan I see the announcement title is hyperlinked, but in Student view, when I click that, it only opens the current announcement and I still don't see a way to view an older announcement in my course. This is Beta, but production shows the same

I may have incorrectly been looking at my demo instructor user when I posted that. I'm updating some information for that feature so I'll double check.

Looks like previous announcements can be viewed via the Breadcrumbs/Course Navigation link for the Homeroom, but not for Subjects.

The team does have a ticket they'll be working on for students to navigate between prior announcements on the Dashboard.

Hi @erinhmcmillan The Breadcrumbs/Course Navigation Link for Homeroom Announcements might be a little difficult for our youngest learners.  My teachers are requesting to being able to see the 3 previous announcements from the main Dashboard like we can do in Classic Canvas.  Or like you mentioned a link below or above the recent announcements that goes to all announcements.   Thank you for letting us make suggestions on the funtionality of the new elementary platform.  I appreciate all the work everyone is doing.   😀

Totally agree, @dsauthoff! This is on our list of upcoming enhancements. More to come on this soon!
