Hello, Instructure Community!

Today, a new button was added to each Question Forum. This great little tool was added to help you and all Community members quickly identify useful answers and to save you time!

The Instructure Community hosts hundreds of new questions each month, and the more you can help identify high-quality answers as you look for your solutions, the better! Think about it as a way of paying it forward, because good questions are often repeated questions. As more people find the answer and identify it as a solution, the count is shared right next to the button. It’s definitely more powerful than a “like” on a reply!

As you explore the many Question Forums, you’re learning alongside 1.84-million other Community members. That’s a lot of thinking, connecting, and discovery to happen in a single site! As we enter into the busiest season in the Instructure Community, let's continue to uplift each other and continue to bring positivity into your replies and experiences. Each time you click the new This Answered My Question button or the Like button, you’re providing a “thank you” and positive feedback for those who take the time to share their expertise.

The feedback on helpful and accurate answers also helps the Instructure Community team more easily identify these answers so we can share and promote them to other areas in the Community. As we all identify correct answers that helped answer our similar questions, we ultimately help the Community Question Forums become easier to navigate for everyone.

I received the email connecting me to this today, and I could honestly cry with happiness that this has been set up. Canvas is very significant to me, as it was the first structure offered when I returned to schooling  while in an relationship involving DV. My first semester back, I had straight A's, in a summer semester, with fully proctored testing - and our grades were test based, rather than essay. The simple structure of the calendar, to do, and dashboard helped me orient myself and begin to escape that situation. I was forced to leave schooling in order to provide for myself and my daughter in the process of getting away from that, and it crushed me.

It is now I believe 6 years later, I am in school again after a long time without access to higher education, and I specifically sought out my school after finding out the learning platform they used was Canvas, and within my state - as I wanted to support my state and better integrate into the community while learning. I still am dealing with things with my ex husband, but the situation no longer involves anyone being in danger, and is getting better every day. School has always been something that helped me distract myself from stress, and I've clung to the clarity it brings me, so I started my pursuit of a degree again in summer of 2022.

Remote learning has been absolutely necessary for me to work towards a degree, for more reasons than what has globally affected us. And the social isolation from like-minded peers has been crushing me. I spent some time making suggestions to Canvas, as there is a very positively oriented suggestion box, and the school I attend did not have a online form of communing to match a little bit of what on campus students experience. Something that could be casual but also was a place you could come to with an expectation to have a conversation with meaning, while meeting someone new, all while remaining perfectly comfortable to represent your authentic and best self.

After a difficult day, while watching modern family and perusing my school email - to come upon this - has greatly cheered me. I truly could cry. This is wonderful, thoughtful, well organized, and I love the updates and accessibility I've seen so far while exploring in the last 10 minutes. I am so excited that my university is using Canvas and that this company is oriented to continue to innovate in such a positive way. Thank you so much to everyone who is putting time into this, I have spent many days feeling excluded from my school because of being an online student. This is something that will have a great impact on the emotional and mental health of students solely by means of offering simple communication, resources, and creativity options without stressors. At the very least, it means a lot to me.

Thank you guys so much, from the bottom of my heart. ❤️

I look forward to getting more involved in the community.
