Is there a global identifier for courses?

I'm taking a look at LTI Variable Substitutions and variable expansion, and I can't find a globally unique identifier for a course that can be used to identify it across all Canvas instances.

I noticed there's a variable called vnd.instructure.Course.uuid, but I couldn't find any documentation confirming that this UUID is globally unique across all Canvas instances.

Could someone confirm this or suggest another way to uniquely identify a course across instances?
