Status of API Scopes?

Hey all,

I'm wondering what the status of using scoped API keys is for Canvas? Right now, the lack of supporting include parameters is a _major_ blocker in using the API. The lack of include parameters makes the roster endpoints practically useless as with a large course you'll end up making many thousands of API calls 

Has anyone been using scopes with large courses? Is there a roadmap for planned enhancements?
