Why isn't there an option to restrict viewing?

Hello,

I was trying to write a script that enables the following but there seems to not be an option for them.

• Students can only participate in the course between these dates
• Restrict students from viewing this course after end date
• Restrict students from viewing this course before start date

Is there a reason why the API can't read or override them?

You're right, that endpoint does seem to be missing. There's ones for restrict after and before the course end dates. Here's a screenshot of me using those endpoints in the live api:

But there's not an endpoint for that specific checkbox in the UI:

There could be information you can observe in the developer tools of your browser that might reveal a hidden API call. I've been told that the Canvas API methods are developed first and then the UI is built on top of the API. This might be a process/challenge that a seasoned pro like @James  could help us uncover.
