Differentiation Tags Update: August 27 Refinements & What’s Next
Following the August 13th refinements—like CSV import support, improved Tag displays, and SIS import integration—we’re keeping the momentum going with more updates coming in the August 27th deploy:
- Tags in Student Details Tray: Quickly see which Tags apply to a student from their details view.
- Gradebook Filter for Tags: Tags now have their own filter option in the Gradebook for faster sorting.
- Bulk Remove Tags: Remove Tags from multiple students at once. Two new API endpoints are also available.
Coming Soon (estimated September 10th deploy):
- Template Download for CSV: Get a ready-to-use CSV template for managing Tags.
- Start with CSV: Jump straight into CSV management without needing to create a Tag first.
We’re also evaluating raising the Tag limits (currently 40 Tags and 10 variants per Tag) with a focus on performance, and removing the feature flag to make enabling Differentiation Tags simpler for everyone.
Thanks to this group’s feedback, we’re making steady progress toward a more powerful, flexible, and easy-to-use tagging experience.
