How do I map descriptors in an instance in Elevate Data Hub?

Data from incoming systems may be labeled differently from downstream reporting systems, which can cause errors in the flow of data. Data descriptors can be mapped to help correct errors in the flow of data, and provide matching labels between systems.

If you cannot access the areas shown in this article, or complete all the steps, you may not have the necessary permissions.

Open Instance

Click the name of the instance.

Open Descriptors

Open Descriptors

In the Instance Navigation menu, click the Descriptors link.

Filter Unmapped Descriptors

To view only categories that have unmapped descriptors, toggle the Unmapped descriptors only option.

View Unmapped Descriptors

View Unmapped Descriptors

Unmapped outgoing data descriptors display an Exclamation icon [1]. To select a mapping option, click the corresponding drop-down menu [2].

Select Descriptor Status

Select Descriptor Status

In the Outgoing Data Descriptor's drop-down menu, select an option.

To designate the data to pass-through or remain excluded in the receiving system, select the Pass-through or Exclude option [1].

Otherwise, select a label from the Map to Outgoing Data menu [2]. You may need to scroll down to see all the available menu options.

Outgoing Descriptor Status

Descriptors can be designated as several statuses, including:

  • Mapped [1]: A label has been selected for the outgoing data.
  • Excluded [2]: The outgoing data will be excluded from data pushes from Elevate Data Hub.
  • Unmapped (Excluded) [3]: The data will pass through Elevate Data Hub unmapped.
  • Pass-through [4]: The data will be included in data pushes from Elevate Data Hub without a label.

Save Descriptors

When you have finished mapping descriptors, click the Save button.
