Colorado > Academic Standards > Changes to Capture Structure in ELA, Math, and Computer Science
We made some structural changes to the Academic Context and Connections portions of the Colorado Academic Standards publication to the following documents:
These changes will ensure that our capture structure of those portions is consistent across all subjects within the Academic Standards publication.
How will this change impact the standards data?
In the source except below, you will note the parenthetical details at the end of the statements. Originally, those were captured as a level of hierarchy. We have removed that level of hierarchy and instead captured the parentheticals as part of the statement text. We feel this is a better representation of the data.
Here is an example of the previous structure:
Academic Context and Connections
Here is the new structure:
Academic Context and Connections
As a result of the structural changes, we will also be updating the enhanced numbering in the math document.
How will this change impact alignments?
The changes made were not to any alignable statements. As such, any existing alignments between assets and standards will not change.
When is this change taking effect?
These changes were started at the beginning of August and will be complete by the beginning of September.
What action must I take?
You may want to update your version of the standards to reflect these changes.
