Standards Updates

Kansas College and Career Ready Standards (KCCRS) Publication Title Change

Originally, Kansas grouped standards under the publication name of Kansas College and Career Ready Standards (KCCRS). Now, those standards have a new publication title - Kansas Curricular Standards. We have changed the title in our data to reflect this change.

How will this change impact the standards data?

The only change is to the publication title. The standards themselves are unchanged.

How will this change impact alignments?

Any existing alignments between assets and standards will not change.

When is this change taking effect?

We updated the publication title at the end of July 2023.

What action must I take?

You may want to update your version of the standards to reflect this change.

Georgia Mathematics 2021 Publication and Document Title Changes

Georgia has confirmed that their 2021 mathematics standards do not fall under the Standards of Excellence publication. We have created a new publication called Standards and the 2021 math standards have been moved there. The document title has been updated to Georgia’s K-12 Mathematics Standards.

How will this change impact the standards data?

The standards have been moved from the Standards of Excellence publication to the Standards publication.

  • Old Publication GUID: b0a19bd6-228c-493a-a3a7-f76d9834d24e
  • New Publication GUID: 4A4947FB-3DD7-11EE-A874-0A02C5C420E1

The document title has had the following change:

  • Old Title: Mathematics
  • New Title: Georgia’s K-12 Mathematics Standards

How will this change impact alignments?

Any existing alignments between assets and standards will not change.

When is this change taking effect?

We made the changes on 8/18/23.

What action must I take?

You may want to update your version of the standards to reflect this change.

Colorado > Academic Standards > Changes to Capture Structure in ELA, Math, and Computer Science

We made some structural changes to the Academic Context and Connections portions of the Colorado Academic Standards publication to the following documents:

  • Reading, Writing, and Communicating (2018 r2020)
  • Mathematics (2018 r2020)
  • Computer Science (2018 r2020)

These changes will ensure that our capture structure of those portions is consistent across all subjects within the Academic Standards publication.

How will this change impact the standards data?

In the source except below, you will note the parenthetical details at the end of the statements. Originally, those were captured as a level of hierarchy. We have removed that level of hierarchy and instead captured the parentheticals as part of the statement text. We feel this is a better representation of the data.

Here is an example of the previous structure:

Academic Context and Connections

  • Personal Skills, Self-Awareness
    • Colorado Essential Skill 1. Accurately recognize one’s own emotions, thoughts, and values and how they influence behavior.

Here is the new structure:

Academic Context and Connections

  • Colorado Essential Skill 1. Accurately recognize one’s own emotions, thoughts, and values and how they influence behavior. (Personal Skills, Self-Awareness)

As a result of the structural changes, we will also be updating the enhanced numbering in the math document.

How will this change impact alignments?

The changes made were not to any alignable statements. As such, any existing alignments between assets and standards will not change.

When is this change taking effect?

These changes were started at the beginning of August and will be complete by the beginning of September.

What action must I take?

You may want to update your version of the standards to reflect these changes.
